Two focused days that turn a strong candidate into a clear application.
ClinpsyPrep's Weekend Intensive walks you through the DClinPsy application — your experience, your statement, your interview — over one Saturday and Sunday, live online, in a small group led by people who've been on both sides of the process.
What happens over the weekend
Live, online, and small enough that you get real feedback — not a webinar you half-watch.
What is a Clinical Psychologist?
A grounded look at the role and its variety — including perspectives from neuropsychology, NHS band psychologists working across domains such as paediatric diabetes, and private practice — with a focus on the responsibilities behind each.
Do I Need an Assistant Psychologist Post?
An honest exploration of what different clinical roles can offer, and how to reflectively frame your own path — whatever it's been — to demonstrate genuine aptitude for the doctorate.
How to Reflect
A working session on different models of reflective practice, and how to use them to write and speak about your experience with real depth.
Core Formulation Models
An introduction to the major formulation frameworks, with direct attention to how they can be drawn on in interview to demonstrate clinical thinking.
The Scientist-Practitioner Model
What the model actually means in practice, and how to speak to it convincingly as something you already embody, not just a phrase to recite.
Statistics Refresher for Interview
A comprehensive stats refresher pitched at interview level, led by Harpreet, who has lectured undergraduate statistics to BSc Psychology cohorts.
Group Interview Practice
A live group interview exercise, run and observed as it would be on the day, followed by group discussion of what panels are watching for.
Mock Individual Interview, With Feedback
A short one-to-one mock interview for each participant, with direct, specific comment on how to strengthen your answers.
Choose how much support you want
The weekend covers everything above. The follow-up interview is for anyone who wants individual feedback closer to their actual interview date.
- Full Saturday–Sunday live programme
- Small-group feedback throughout
- Session recordings
- Annotated personal statement
- A live one-to-one mock interview
- Detailed, individual feedback
- Booked separately, closer to your real interview date
Cost shouldn't be the reason you don't come. See funded places below.
Every paid place helps fund a free one.
A limited number of free places on the Weekend Intensive are set aside for students for whom the cost is a genuine barrier.
There's no evidence required and nothing to prove — just email us and ask, on a trust basis.
DoctorHarpreetSingh@proton.meCommon questions
Is this suitable if I haven't applied before?
Yes — most participants are preparing for their first application. The sessions are built around common starting points, not prior application experience.
What if I can't make one of the live sessions?
Every session is recorded, so you won't lose the content. That said, the live feedback is a core part of the weekend, so we'd encourage attending where possible.
How small is "small group"?
We cap numbers so that everyone gets individual feedback across the weekend — exact group size is confirmed when you book.
Do I need to prepare anything beforehand?
A draft or outline of your personal statement is helpful but not required — we'll build on whatever stage you're at.
How does the funded place application work?
Email us directly — there's no form and no evidence needed. We take you at your word if cost is what's stopping you from joining.
What's your refund policy?
Details will be confirmed at checkout — get in touch if you have a specific question before booking.
